Don’s Mill - in Mart Road, Minehead, Don provides special yarns, cheap and specialist fabrics, plus some local souvenirs, in his warehouse and over the internet. A good laugh!

 

Dunster Castle - only around 3 miles from Blue Anchor, National Trust castle and gorgeous historic village

 

Watchet Carnival - over 2 weekends in the summer. Towards the end of  July, you have Watchet Carnival - procession, fairground and events for kids. Around the end of August, you have Watchet Festival, a weekend outdoor musical extravaganza with live bands.

Minehead - around 5 miles from Blue Anchor, this old Victorian has much to offer. Pretty harbour one end, Butlins at the other

 

Home Farm - in Blue Anchor, small working farm with tea room, farm shop, farm trail.

 

Pebbles Bistro (no website), Market Street, Watchet. Open lunchtimes and evenings from June. Good menu (e.g. scampi, pasta, roasts, home-made chips!) reasonable prices. Dogs and children welcome. Can get busy on popular evenings. Phone number: 01984 633831.
